Based on the story of David and Goliath.  1Samuel 17:1-50 and Luke 6:27-36.  Fee Fi Fo Fum!  How do you stand tall against Giants in your world?  How do you deal when someone picks on you, calls you names and/or is an absolute bully?

Start your Confirmation class year with a HOLMES retreat.  Come investigate issues of faith, church membership and life in the Christian Community personally, at your home congregation, in your community and in the larger Christian community.  Discuss with your own class and with youth from other churches.

HOLMES Presbyterian Camp & Conference Center is doing  strategic planning and is looking for input from every church in the Presbyteries of Hudson River, New York City and Long Island.  

We will be glad to come to your Session, youth group, or any other group to talk about how our programs can work with your church program.

Camp and conference sunday as designated by the general assembly:
 You may have "Camp and Conference Sunday" other than the designated date!

     Congregations are encouraged to join together to celebrate the creation of nature, recognize the importance of retreating and to honor relationships that are fostered through outdoor ministry. 

     As members of the three Presbyteries of New York, Long Island, and Hudson River, you own the Presbyterian Center at Holmes.  To help your congregations to better understand this unique ministry and camps and conferences, the General Assembly has designated a Camp and Conference Sunday in all churches across the General Assembly.  Materials have been provided by General Assembly to help with your preparation.  For more information go to http://pcusa.org .
